Slavery, Resistance & Freedom: The Underground Railroad Living Muesum INVITATION Africa First, LLC of Minnesota, USA, in association with the Government of Ghana and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, (UNESCO), cordially invites all the citizens of the world to its International Workshop of History, Slavery, Religion, Culture, Art and Music at the Ghana Institute of Management & Public Administration, University of Ghana, Accra on March 4-6, 2006. This extraordinary event will coincide with the celebration of the 49th Independence Day Anniversary of the Republic of Ghana, and further UNESCO's International Year To Commemorate The Struggle Against Slavery and Its Abolition. The program includes an intellectual search into the past for the missing links into the history of the underprivileged people of the world; a call to the end of all forms of contemporary slavery, a memorial service in memory and veneration of the known and unknown victims of slavery around the globe. There will be educational tour, musical and theatrical performances at the Cape Coast Slave Castle and the Elmina Slave Castle, spiritual ceremonies at shrines in Cape Coast, the symbolic burial place at Nnonkonsuo (Slave River), Assin Manso, and a 2-nights trip to Kumasi, the golden capital of the Ashanti Kingdom - rare opportunity to meet with the King of Ashanti and to witness the pomp and pageantries that make up of traditional coronation of the kings and queens of Ashanti. A special exhibition of rural and modern art and craft under the auspices of the College of Fine Art, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. A visit to a powerful Prophetess for cleansing and healing of a variety of sicknesses. All of these events will be crowned with an African fashion show and naming ceremony.
